American Contra Dancing in the Northwest of England

with Live Music from Flying Clouds

Contra dancing is a form of social folk dancing from North America. It is similar to English country dancing, using many of the same figures, but the style is more modern and smooth, with some French influence. You don't need to have done any dancing before to be able to start contra dancing; each dance is taught and called continuously. You can bring a friend for a partner or you can borrow one from us. Come join us for a dance on our regular meeting night (second Thursday of each month) and see how much fun contra dancing is.

8:00 to 10:30 pm

(in the old hall) Heaton Moor United Reform Church, 30 Heaton Moor Road, Heaton Moor, Stockport SK4 4NX (between Heaton Chapel rail station and Heaton Moor Medical Centre)

£4.00 per session, tea is served during the break.
Beginners and singles welcome.

There will be no Flying Clouds Contra in Stockport in August as we will be heading off to the summer festivals.
